Kelly's Directory of 1883 mentions the removal of the font to its proper place some years earlier. Baptismal font consisting of an octagonal basin decorated with cusped quatrefoil panels on the sides, an inscription around the upper rim, and florons on the underbowl chamfer; raised on an octagonal pedestal base with trefoiled arches or windows on the sides, the lower base moulded; on an octagonal plinth with kneeling extension. The wooden cover is octagonal and flat, with metal decoration and ring handle. Both pieces probably date from the 19th-century major renovation of the church. [NB: we have no information on the original font of the 14th-century church]
