Described in Pevsner (1958): "Octagonal, Perp[endicular], with quatrefoil frieze." Baptismal font consisting of an octagonal basin with deeply-carved sides decorated with floral or shield motifs inscribed in quatrefoils; the underbowl chamfer is plain; the base is unusual in its square almost tabular shape, a protruding moulding atop, deeply-carved trefoil arches or windows on the sides; the octagonal plinth appears modern. It is not a refined work, not one that follows the better traditions of the Perpendicular style; perhaps the work of a local mason not too conversant with the pattern. The wooden cover is octagonal and flat, with moulded edges and a knob handle.
