The present baptismal font at Carhampton St. John's consists of a square basin mounted on a central shaft and four angle colonnettes, and a plain quadrangular lower base. The wooden cover is round and flat. The font dates probably from the major re-building of the previous 15th-century building in 1862-1863. [NB: the original church existed already at the end of the 13th century, but we have no information on the earlier font(s) of this church]
