No entry found for Angersleigh in the Domesday survey. Jeboult (1873) notes: "The font is very ancient." Baptismal font consisting of a round cauldron-like basin decorated with a flat moulding around its middle, raised on a cylindrical pedestal base with roll mouldings at both ends, the lower one thicker and forming the top volume of the lower base, with spurs at the angles on the lower square volume; the spurs do not appear to be all the same, but it is difficult to tell because some appear broken/damaged. This is an uneven work, the basin is quite crude, yet the proportions of the base are classic and well rendered. The wooden cover is round and flain, with a long flat handle. Not mentioned in Pevsner (1958). The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: ST1990618701] notes: "Parish church. Tower C14, rest C15 extensively restored c1855 when chapel added, chancel arch rebuilt, nave crenellated and church largely refenestrated, 1872 porch converted to vestry, early C20 refitted [...] Norman circular font with remains of cable moulding."
