Described in Sáenz Rodríguez (2004) and in the Enciclopedia del románico en La Rioja (2008) as a baptismal font probably of the 14th century and perhaps made by the same hand as the other font in this village [cf. Index entry for Torrecilla en Cameros No. 1]; the font consists of a plain bucket-shaped basin raised on a moulded circular base and a quadrangular lower base. Sáenz Rodríguez (ibid.) informs that the font was buried up to mid-basin height for some time and the porous limestone is now badly eroded. This same source suggests it was originally from the Iglesia de Santa Maria de Villamayor, one of three churches in this village. No cover present.
