A 'Somerset Historic Environment Record (No. 53358 September 1984) reports: "A stone base indicated an earlier position of the font, now in the north transept". The font appears octagonal with plain sides, but there is a moulding at the bottom of the underbowl, where it meets the octagonal stem; this, and the lower base, which is square, are both plain but for four spurs at the corners of the lower base. The font is probably medieval but appears to have been re-cut. The wooden cover has four vertical scrolls on a flat platform, in the manner of Jacobean covers. Not mentioned in Pevsner (1958).
