Noted in the National Monuments record, English Heritage [http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/details/default.aspx?id=271106] [accessed 18 May 2009] as a baptismal font of the Perpendicular period. Not mentioned in Pevsner (1958). The font consists of an octagonal basin decorated with a large pointed quatrefoil on each side; plain underbowl chamfer; ring moulding where the basin meets the stem of the base; trefoiled arches or windows on the stem sides. The wooden cover consists of an octagonal base with crenellated top and trefoils on the sides; from it stem eight crocketed ribs that converge on the dove (?) finial; on the inside, an octagonal pyramid; appears Victorian.
