Sáenz Rodríguez (2004) and the Enciclopedia del románico en La Rioja (2008) mention a number of old baptismal fonts gathered at the Museo del claustro de la Catedral, in Santo Domingo de la Calzada; of these fonts one, originally from Cellorigo, was moved to the Iglesia de la Trinidad, in Calahorra [cf. Index entry]; two others are noted in the Enciclopedia… (ibid.) as being still in the Museo at the time [ca. 2008?], from two hamlets of Santa Engracia del Jubera: Cenzano and El Collado (Iglesia de San Juan Bautista). The font from El Collado is a crude work, slightly egg-cup shaped, with widely-separated thin ribs or piping all around, one of the spaces in between occupied by a crude Latin cross; the font retains two metal staples in the upper rim from an old cover. Sáenz Rodríguez (2004) suggests a date in the 14th century for it and points out that it is a crude local work. [NB: the Enciclopedia… (ibid.) further notes that the diocesan authorities appear to have the intention [policy?] of relocating the old fonts to new parishes as needed. This will require later modifications to the listing of these fonts in BSI]
