Noted and illustrated in Sáenz Rodríguez (2004) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period from Montalbo de Cameros, later moved to Logroño. Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en La Rioja (2008). Baptismal font of the 12th century originally from the church of San Miguel in Montalbo de Cameros, although it was housed in the 'Museo del claustro de la catedral' at Santo Domingo de la Calzada since its first move in 1971; the font is a monolithic bucket-shaped tub with a deeply-carved blind arcade of round arches around its lower half; it is raised on a modern octagonal base, and covered with a round lid, also modern. The font appears to be made of a coarse granite. Sáenz Rodríguez (2004) and the Enciclopedia… (ibid.) state that it is the work of the Sierra de Cameros workshop, although its crude design and execution vary significantly from those of the usual fonts characteristic of that workshop (e.g., Gallinero, San Roman or Valdeosera)
