Described and illustrated in Sáenz Rodríguez (2004) as a plain Romanesque baptismal font of the 12th or 13th century consisting of a plain hemispherical basin raised on a cylindrical stem decorated with a moulding at the top, and a round lower base; probably re-tooled and painted. In the Enciclopedia del románico en La Rioja (2008). Noted and illustrated in Rioja Románica [https://www.riojaromanica.com/categorias/pilas-bautismales#] [accessed 8 November 2020]: "Ubicada en los pies de la nave esta pila bautismal, a pesar de su sencillez y ausencia de ornamentación, parece de los siglos XII o XIII. Mide 103 cm de altura total x 101 cm de diámetro del brocal. Posee tipología en copa semiesférica y se asienta sobre un podium circular de gran diámetro y poca altura. Consta de un pie con una base cilíndrica y un fuste de menor diámetro rematado en una moldura." The font and stoup in this church are noted in Minerva Sáenz Rodríguez' Aproximación al estudio histórico-artístico de la iglesia parroquial de San Julián de Castilseco (La Rioja) (2002) [https://dialnet.unirioja.es/servlet/articulo?codigo=1212983] [accessed 8 November 2020]; the font is dated in this author as 12th-13thC, like the church itself; the holy-water stoup, instead, is dated here as late-16th or early 17th century, wall-mounted and decorated with a ribbed pattern.
