Church Notes: Pope Nicholas V sends permission to build this church in a July 1, 1452 document -- although separated less than 1 km Garagarza's church belongs to the docesis of Pamplona, while Azpilgoeta / Mendaro belong to that of Calahorra
Baptismal font consisting of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with a simple moulding at the upper rim, otherwise plain; raised on a cylindrical pedestal stem with a square lower base; the basin appears to be an ancient one totally re-tooled; the stem and base appear modern, but it is difficult to ascertain since the re-tooling is so drastic.
