There is an entry for Brading [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SZ6087/brading/] [accessed 13 February 2020] but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. The Victoria County History (Hampshire, vol. 5, 1912) notes: "an octagonal font of small dimensions and mixed dates, the shaft and base of the 13th century, the bowl of the 16th century". [NB: not clear whether or not there are two such composite fonts]. Described in Lloyd & Pevsner (2006): "a plain square bowl with scallop decoration on the underside edge, set on a short round stem with rim moulding; presumably, but oddly, of c.1200." [cf. Index entries for Brading Nos. 1 and 2 for two other related objects in this church]
