The Whittlebury Parishes web site [http://www.whittlewoodparishes.org.uk/whittlebury.htm] [accessed 7 May 2009] notes: "The Font was provided by subscriptions in 1853." The Victorian font consists of an octagonal basin with tapering sides decorated with deeply-carved panels, raised on a central shaft and eight outer colonnettes with moulded capitals and bases, and an octagonal lower base. Octagonal plinth. The wooden cover is an octagonal pyramid and probably co-eval with the font. [NB: the fabric of the church goes back to the 13th century but we have no information on the earlier font(s) of this church]
