There are two entries for Weedon [Bec] [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SP6359/weedon-bec/] [accessed 18 November 2015], one of which mentions a priest, but not a church in it, though there probably was one there. The present font is Victorian, of 1825, a square basin decorated with the symbols of the Evangelists on the sides, raised on five columns with moulded capitals and bases. [NB: we have no information on the original font from the Domesday-time church here]. English Heritage [Listing NGR: SP6333659283] (1968) does not mention the font in use here, but notes: "A medieval carved column base supports a miniature copy of the Winchester Cathedral font from chapel of Ordnance Depot (Weedon Barracks [...])"
