No individual entry for Wyke Champflower found in the Domesday survey. Phelps (1836) notes: "The font is ancient". Not mentioned in Pevsner (1958). The Church Crawler blog [http://churchcrawler.blogspot.com/2008/06/holy-trinity-wyke-champflower-somerset_5694.html] [accessed 1 October 2009] notes: "The font dates from 1945 but the cover was returned to the rebuilt church in 1623". Did the font disappear after Phelps' visit? The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: ST6619334307] notes: "Church. Dated 1623. [...] octagonal font on stand dated 1945, but ogee cupula cover and suspension gear is C17." [NB: the church/chapel appears dedicated to St. Mary in some sources, while others give the Holy Trinity]
