Walker (1883) reports a font of similar character to that in the church of St. George" in this church [cf. Index entry for Cologne No. 3]. The present [2008] font in use at St Ursula's, however, is modern, consisting of an octagonal basin with a rounded underbowl, all covered in neo-Gothic tracery, raised on a pedestal base of decagonal shape. Mid-height pyramidal metal cover, the sides decorated with round panels containing scenes, surrounded with foliage patterns; large garlands lower on the sides; sculptural finial. We have found no information on the whereabouts of the earlier font here.
