Lübke (1870) notes a metal font of the Gothic period "supported by three figures of men, and adorned with statuettes" in the Church of the Cross. The font is described with full transcription of the inscriptions in the entry for this font in the Inschriftenkatalog: Stadt Hannover [www.inschriften.net/hannover/inschrift/nr/di036-0014.html#content] [accessed 9 March 2019]: baptismal font of bronze, consisting of a round basin raised on three kneeling male figures; the basin consists of an arcade of eight pointed arches, seven of which include a standing figure of an apostle or saint: Andrew holding book; Matthew holding book; Gertrud with a crown and church; Nicholas in bishop attire wearing mitre; Catherine with wheel; Bernard in bishop attire and mitre; Thomas with staff and book; the eighth frames a Crucifixion with Mary and John beneath the arms of the cross; there are inscriptions in Gothic minuscules with capitals in Gothic capitals on several areas of the basin [cf. Inscription field]; This same source suggests the stylistic affinity to the font at Einbeck St Alexandri, the work of Hennyngus Regnerus [Henning Rengher, ca. 1421-1427]
