Lübke (1870) notes a Gothic font with figural ornamention in this church. Described and illustrated by Klaus-D. Wupper [https://www.kdwupper.de/billerbeck-st-johanniskirche.html] [accessed 25 June 2022]: late Gothic baptismal font dated 1497 by an inscription which also credits Johannes Schfuth from Everswinkel, the then priest of the church, as donor; the panels of the octagonal basin are decorated with scenes or themes from the Bible, both the Old and the New Testaments, related to baptism; the eight scenes are thus described: "1. Durchgang durch das Rote Meerl 2. Samariterin am Jakobsbunnen; 3. Quellwunder des Mose; 4. Enthauptung des Johannes des Täufers; 5. Weissagung des Propheten Ezechiel (47,1) von „ dem aus dem Tempel strömenden Wasser“; 6. Christliche Taufe durch Untertauchen; 7. Durchzug der Israeliten mit der Bundeslade durch den Jordan; 8. Taufe Jesu im Jordan." No cover present but the basin interior has a metal insert with four animal-head shaped fountain head.
