There is an entry for Marston [St Lawrence] [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SP5342/marston-st-lawrence/] [accessed 24 December 2018] but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Pevsner & Cherry (1973) note: "Font. Octagonal, with crocketed blank arches -- Dec[orated] or Perp[endicular]?" The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SP5362242075] notes: "Parish church. C13 and C14 with Perpendicular additions. [...] Font C14-C15 octagonal with blind tracery." Octagonal basin as described above, with a plain underbowl chamfer; raised on an octagonal pedestal with deeply-carved trefoiled arches or windows; the lower base is moulded at the top, turning from octagonal to square at the bottom. The wooden cover consists of a flat octagonal platform with decorated edges, on which eight very thin colonnottes at angles support a crown-shaped canopy; appears modern.
