Baptismal font consisting of an octagonal basin raised on a cluster of four moulded columns and an octagonal lower base. An inscription carved on alternate sides of the underbowl gives the date, 1601, and the name of the donor, Van der Guchte. Noted and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [http://balat.kikirpa.be/photo.php?path=M077062&objnr=15135&nr=22] [accessed 3 November 2015]; the sandstone font dated 1601 and the copper cover 1839. The font consists of a small octagonal (?) basin decorated with a moulding at the upper rim, and an inscription [cf. supra]; on a baluster-shaped slender stem decorated with mouldings and foliated patterns; the round-to-octagonal (?) lower base is decorated with incised cartouches on the upper surface, the sides moulded. The metal cover has overall dome shape, the sides heavily moulded; orb-and-Latin-crodd finial.
