There are two entries for [Long] Buckby [variant spelling] in the Domesday syrvey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SP6267/long-buckby/] [accessed 24 September 2020] neither of which mentions priest or church in it. Not mentioned in Pevsner & Cherry (1973). The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SP6272467744] notes: "Church. Medieval. Restored 1862 by G.G. Scott and 1883-7 by W. Bassett-Smith"; no font mentioned. The font consists of a plain octagonal basin with slightly tapering sides, raised on a multi-block round base that does not match the basin. The wooden font cover is plain, octagonal and flat; appears modern.
