There are two entries for [Cold] Higham [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SP6653/cold-higham/] [accessed 19 May 2019], one of which reports a priest, a church and "2.0 church lands" in it, while the other mentions only another priest in it. The Gentleman's magazine (issue of March 1806: 214) reports of a 'Topographical Tour in Northamptonshire, in 1805', with a stop-visit to the church at Cold Higham and a mention of the baptismal font at the time: "The font is 16 sided, and taper". The Inventory of the Historical Monuments in the County of Northamptonshire (vol. 4, 1982: 32-34) mentions a church in this parish but gives no details of it or its contents. The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SP6627053513] notes: "Church. C13, C14. Restored, chancel rebuilt, north aisle and organ chamber added 1879" but does no mention the font in it. The entry for Cold Higham in Kelly's Directory for Befordshire, Hunts and Northamptonshire (London, 1885: 357) notes: "the font was given by Mrs. Whitton, of Blakesley". No font mentioned in Cold Higham's entry in Pevsner & Cherry (New Have: Yale UP, 1973). The modern font is of stone and octagonal in shape, with carved panels; it is raised on a three-step plinth and located at the west end of the nave, south side, by the entranceway.
