Moule (1837) notes a font "of considerable antiquity, and is sculptured with foliage and roses in circles; the lower part is quite plain." Illustrated in Anderson (1864), who notes that the earliest mention found of this church is in 1216. Noted in the 'Salopian shreds and patches' (issue of 21 August 1878: 82) as Norman. Noted in Newman & Pevsner (2006): "Font. Norman, tub-shaped, with big rosettes, and a folage strip above." The 'rosettes' are inscribed and a beaded-tape circle; the splaying basi is broad, round and plain.
