Described in Pulman (1854): "The font is octagonal, and very ancient. It is made of Ham stone, painted to represent marble”. Described in Pevsner (1958). The English Heritage National Monuments Record [http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/details/default.aspx?id=262214] [accessed 6 Februay 2009] reports a "C15 panelled octagonal stone font" in this church (listing date: 4 February 1958). Noted in the Winsham Museum site [http://www.winshamwebmuseum.co.uk/church/church.htm] [accessed 6 February 2009] : "The font is Perpendicular with quatrefoil decoration, cusping below and panelling to the stem."
