A baptismal font of the type common in Scandinavia in the mid- to late-17th century: an octagonal basin with rounded underbowl is held up by an atlante-like figure; the font is brightly painted and has the date "ANNO 1660" painted on the band between the basin underbowl and the human head; the sides of the basin are painted with demi-angels; the lower base is made of two narrow octagonal volumes. There is no font cover but the font has the usual brass basin insert often used in Scandinavian fonts. This late wooden font is said to have been made by the Wernerska workshop in Östra Tollstad. [cf. BSI entry for Sojestad No. 1 for the surviving base of an earlier stone font here]
