Font Notes:
Pode & Pode (1918) note: "The oldest part of the Church is the squat, slightly tapering tower. The remains of its lancet windows suggest that it dates from the early part of the 13th century. It was probably part of an earlier building whose nave and chancel may have corresponded in size with the present nave. We know that the Church and three altars were re-dedication [sic] in 1336 […] The [modern] font stands in front of the ringing chamber of the tower and is separated from it by a wooden screen." No mention of any font in Pevsner (1952). The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SX6043259366] notes: "Parish Church. Circa 1300 west tower and east end of chancel. The rest mainly C15. Chancel largely rebuilt in 1867" but mentions no font in it. The Cornwood OPC [https://www.cornwood-opc.com/cornwood/parish-history/32-parish-history-church] [accessed 4 July 2025] notes: "The font is modern". [NB: we have no information on the earlier font(s) of this church]
