The 'Salopian shreds and patches (issue of 21 May 1879: 175) reports on the re-opening of Bedstone Church on 13 May of that year and notes: "The old Norman font has been placed on a new stone base, and an ornamental oak cover has been added." Newman & Pevsner (2006) report a "plain C12 tub" font in this church. Noted in the Parish web site [http://www.bucknellandbedstone.org/church.html] [accessed 14 January 2009]: "The plain, tub-shaped font is [...] of the 12th century, though it stands on a newer, 19th century base. It has a simple semi-circular band of decoration round its middle, and you can see where a lock was fitted " The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SO3688875745] notes: "Parish church. C12, repaired in 1851 and restored by Kempson of Hereford in 1879 [...] C12 tub-shaped font has plain semi-circular band to centre and lead lining."
