Font Notes:
Stabb (1908- ) describes this font as unremarkable and "of late date". Noted in Pevsner (1952): "Font. Usual octagonal Perp[endicular] type with quatrefoil panels". The font consists of an octagonal basin with quatrefoiled panels containing blank shileds and floral motifs; floral motifs on the sides of the underbowl chamfer; pairs of trefoiled arches or windows on the sides of the octagonal pedestal base; octagonal lower base with graded mouldings; entirely re-cut and re-carved. The octagonal pyramidal cover is said to be mid-17th century; has been painted a striking blue and white.
