Described in 'Church notes...' (1887) in the context of some "notes [that] were taken between 1835 and 1840": reports the "thickly white-washed Norman chapel" and its modern font [NB: we have no information on the original font of this Norman church]. The Oxford Villages entry for Highmoor [http://www.oxfordshirevillages.co.uk/southoxonvillages/highmoor.html] [accessed 1 January 2022] notes: "Highmoor is a small village which includes two or three other settlements, namely Highmoor Cross, Witheridge Hill and Satwell [...] The hamlet of Satwell is about three quarters of a mile to the south of Highmoor Cross and comprises a handful of cottages and a pub."
