Font Notes:
The Victoria County History (Wiltshire, vol. 6, 1962) notes: "A church at Fugglestone is first mentioned in 1291 [...] There is no trace of any Norman work in the church, and its earliest features accord well with a 13th-century date". [NB: we have no information on the original baptismal font of this church]. The VCH (ibid.) notes one other medieval church in Fugglestone: St. Andrew's, originally of the 14th century, and three modern churchs: St. John's, St. Gregory's (RC) and St. Michael & All Angels', but there are no antient baptismal fonts recorded in this parish. The entry for this church in Historic England [https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1365906?section=official-list-entry] [accessed 3 July 2025] notes: "Late 18th century stone font with a gadrooned and moulded bowl on a stem of inverted pear shape."
