No entry found for Froxfield in the Domesday survey. The Victoria County History (Wiltshire, vol. 16, 1999): "Froxfield church was standing in the 12th century [...] The church of All Saints, so called in 1763, [...] is built of flint and sarsen rubble with freestone dressings and consists of a chancel with north vestry and organ chamber and a nave with south porch and west bell turret. [...] The nave, small and with thick walls, is 12th-century; the chancel was rebuilt in the 13th century. In the 14th century new windows were inserted in the north and south walls of the nave, and a new doorway was made in its north wall, and in the 15th century a new west window was inserted. [...] restoration of 1891-2 to designs by Ewan Christian"; there is no mention of a font in the VCH entry for this parish. The British Listed Buildings database entry for this church [www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-310734-church-of-all-saints-froxfield] [accessed 23 February 2012] reports a "low stone medieval bowl font" in it. The existing font consists of a round basin with tapering sides raised on a pedestal base, located at the west end of the nave, south side. The wooden font cover, flat and round, appears modern.
