The Victoria County History (Wiltshire, vol. 13, 1987) notes: "A church may have stood in Teffont Evias in 1100 [...] The church was dedicated to St. Michael and All Angels by the bishop of Salisbury in 1965. [...] No earlier dedication is known. [...] The chancel and nave were built, perhaps with stone from an earlier church, in the 15th century and were altered later. [...] The 12th-century font may survive from an earlier church." The baptismal font consists of a plain cauldron-shaped basin raised on a cylindrical pedestal base decorated with roll mouldings; on a square lower base; on a round plinth. The wooden font cover is round and flat, with metal decoration and Latin cross finial; appears modern.
