There is an entry for Boddington [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SO8925/boddington/] [accessed 4 February 2019] but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. The entry for this parish in the Victoria County History (Gloucester, vol. 8, 1968) notes: "The church was built in the 12th century […] The octagonal font is of the 15th century." Noted in Verey & Brooks (1999-2002): "Font. Octagonal, Perp[endicular]-style, though perhaps C16-C17; see the odd foliage decoration on the bowl." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SO8944225194] notes: "Parish church. C12, C13, C14, possibly early C17, C18, restored late C19, mid C20 vestry. [...] Octagonal stone font, blind arcading to stem, leaf cross to sides bowl (probably late C15, early C16)." [NB: we have no information on the earlier font of this church]
