Font Notes:
Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla y León (2002- ). Baptismal font consisting of a plain bucket-shaped basin raised on a moulded lower base; the iron staples for the locking of the cover are still in place in the upper rim. There is a plain wooden cover, flat and round; appears modern. The font has been cemented to a corner of the nave and it appears disused. The font, like the very interesting portal, is probably dated to the late 12th or early 13th century. [NB: for the font at San Cristóbal de Almendres, historically a 'barrio' of Almendres, see its BSI entry]
