Noted in Drake (2002) as a Westphalian cylinder font with framed panelling that includes "the Annunciation to Zacaraias, who is shown censing the altar on which a chalice stands. On the other side of the altar the angel stretches out his right hand to the old priest, who raises jis left hand in ashtonishment. The figure of a bishop completes the programme." The cylindrical basin has a deeply carved programme that includes a standing bishop figure. quite likely the patron saint of the church, Lambert [aka Lambertus or Landebertus, bishop of Maastricht, believed to have died a martyr ca. 700 A.D.]; to the left of Lambert is a beautiful interlace that could symbolise the Tree of Life; to the right of Lambert is Zacharias and the angel; right of that is the altar, and still moving to the right right is the scene of the Annunciation to Zacharias, as noted in Drake above, and next another representation of the altar on the left of Lambert, diametrically opposed to the one right of the angel. The base or lower part of the font bulges out and is decorated with an acanthus vine all around.
