Noted in Wikipedia [http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zell_(Mosel)#Religion] [accessed 6 November 2008]: "Die kath.
The font in the modern [late-18thC] Catholic Church of St Peter is noted in the Romantic Germany Rhineland-Palatinate site [www.romantic-germany.info/infrastructure/infrastruktur/Pfarrkirche-St-Peter_Zell/deskline-details.html] [accessed 18 December 2018]: "late Gothic font [...] originally from the old church in the cemetery. The octagonal font is 1.21 metres high and is decorated with three-quarter columns and cloverleaf arches with the inscription ANNO DN 1461." [NB: the previous church had been declared derelict in 1781 and was demolished; replaced by a new building in 1786-1793].
The Protestant parish church [Evangelische Kirche] here was built in 1866 and demolished in 1954 due to foundation problems
