Noted in Glynne's 21 April 1864 visit to this church (in Butler, 2007): "The font is new; bowl octagonal, on central stem, surrounded by marble shafts." [NB: the present font dates probably from the 1859 restoration by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott; the south door shows some nice Norman beaked-head work, but we have no information on the earlier font(s) of this church]
