Glynne's 26 March 1825 church visit notes (in Butler, 2007) read: "The font is octagon and plain; and there is a small square basin supported on a shaft, and adorned with toothed moulding, which seems also to have been a font." [NB: there are traces of Norman architecture in this church; could this go back to that early period? [font not seen]]
