Font Notes:
Baptismal font of the 16th century consisting of a cylindrical basin decorated with a moulding shaped like a Franciscan cingulum at the upper rim; below it are a number of motifs: protruding sheafs of wheat, tendrils or branches, etc., some of them still painted; the underbowl chamfer is plain (perhaps as a result of having had the lower part of the basin carved off?); It is mounted on a strange platform described in Fernández (1992) as "a circular piece which contains Talavera ceramic of Puebla". This object is described in another source as a "un lavabo de piedra con relieves y talavera" [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ante-sacristía_del_Convento_de_Huejotzingo_01.jpg] [accessed 22 August 2025]; it is located in the former Ante-sacristía del Convento de Huejotzingo, building which serves now as a museum. A set of digital photographs of the object is posted in Wikimedia [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Convento_de_San_Miguel_Arcángel_en_Huejotzingo] [accessed 22 August 2025].

The entry for this church in the Mexican Wikipedia [https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convento_de_Huejotzingo] [accessed 22 August 2025] mentions holy-water stoups bearing the HIS symbols: "las pilas para agua bendita, decoradas con acanaladuras inclinadas, y molduras que asemejan gajos. Poseen una cartela con las iniciales "HIS"".
