Font Notes:
Lara (2008) reproduces a page of the Codex Sierra, an account ledger of the parish of Santa Catarina Texupan for the year 1558, containing an "outlay for the carpenter from Mexico City, who repaired the baptismal font". The ledger shows a drawing/painting of the [a?] baptismal font, a traditional design consisting of a plain he,ispheric basin raised on a plain circular pedestal base, and a foliated lower basee appears to be a plain round wooden cover. It is not clear what the carpenter's work was. The text of the ledger appears to be Nahuatl.
