Font Notes:
The present font, consisting of an octagonal basin with decorated sides on an octagonal pedestal base is probably of the Victorian renovation, in the mid 19th century The font cover consists of a flat octagonal platform with a cross on a two-step base; probably modern [NB: the fabric of the church goes back to ca. 1200, but we have no information on the earlier font(s) of this church] [NB: one of the panels on the basin shows a replacement stone, the type often found in repairs related to old font-cover damage, but, in this case, it may unrelated, unless the whole font has bee thoroughly re-carved]
