The Victoria County History (Wiltshire, vol. 17, 2002): "Calstone church was standing in 1301 and was served by a rector.[...] The church of St. Mary, so called in 1763, [...] was rebuilt in the mid 15th century"; there is no mention of a font in the VCH entry. A later font is noted in Pevsner & Cherry (1975): "Font. C18. Simple, octagonal, with part-fluting." The present font at St. Mary's consists of an octagonal basin decorated with ribbed patterns at the protruding upper rim and around the underbowl, the panels of the sides with pairs of stylised blind arches or windows; it is raised on a plain octagonal pedestal that splays at the bottom, and a rectangular plinth. The wooden font is octagonal, with a scroll and acorn finial.
