Noted and illustrated in Buhagiar (2005): "a white marble holy water stoup that was presumably the gift of one of the Knight Hospitallers. The basin, which has the simple nobility and pusity of form of the Early Renaissance, and is ornamented with the Cross of the Religion, and fleurs de Lis in low relief [...] is the work of the still largely unknown sculpture [sic] Nicola Caccialepri who followed the Knights to Malta from Rhodes. It is signed and dated 1535 in beautiful, boldly engraved Latin letters. The basin is roughly hemispherical, with the said motifs runing around the sides between two mouldings; the inscription is on the upper surface of the rim; the inner well is also round.
