The notable aspect of this baptismal font is actually the large oak armoire that constituted the frame for the baptismal font itself. The large cupboard contained a horizontal shelf that held the basin proper. The armoire fell into disuse at a later date when a 'proper' font was introduced in this church. The armoire had been originally located in the south aisle near the entranceway, but was later moved around the interior of the church, until the late 1950s, when the parish priest, M. Doublet, put it up for sale to help in the financing of the electrical heating for the building [source: http://acoz.skynetblogs.be/post/5646664/les-anciens-fonts-baptismaux-de-leglise-dacoz [accessed 21 August 2008]
