Chancel-Bardelot (2008) notes the presence of five holy-water stoups in this cathedral church; of the five two are made of cast metal and probably from the 15th or 16th centuries [cf. Index entries for Bourges Nos. 2 and 3]. Of the remaining three, all of which are made of stone, only one is clearly described in the source and with an accompanying illustration; it consists of an octagonal basin heavily moulded, raised on a narrow and squat square stem, also moulded, and a tall base of carved openwork with two scrolls on each side; the lower base or foot is squared and moulded, and has on its upper surface the date '1761'. This stoup is located in the southwest side of the nave, in fronm of the last column on the south side, just inside the main west entranceway. The other two stone stoups are located one next to each of the north and south doors of the church.
