The Encilopedia del románico en Navarra (2008) states that this font was removed from its source, the Ermita de San Martin de Montalban, in 1953 by the inhabitants of Villatuerta and carried to their parish church, Iglesia de la Asuncion, Villatuerta, where it was kept in the churchyard or garden [cf. Index entry for Villatuerta No. 2] until 2005; at the beginning of 2006, continues this source, it was mounted on on a wheeled metal base and taken into the chapel in the interior of the Iglesia de la Asuncion.
