Baker-Jones (1970) writes: ''The fonts at Cynwyl Gaeo, Marros, Llandawke, Eglwys Cymyn, St. Clears and Llangynnor have been singled out for their rude workmanship and their style presumes considerable antiquity . Their general square shape and low cylindrical pillars approximate them to the style of Norman fonts, and they may perhaps represent the local Welsh craftsman's attempts to follow the fashion brought by the invader.'' The entry for this church in British Listed buildings [https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/300082388-church-of-st-ceinwr-llangunnor#.VTU9OiFVhHw] [accessed 24 January 2020] notes: "Its hilltop location and Celtic dedication suggest an early medieval origin for the church. The present building probably comprises C13 nave and chancel, with later medieval N aisle and chapel [...] Major restoration in the period 1815-28 [...] Another restoration, c1870 [...] Further minor restoration in 1962-3 [...] The C13 style font is square, on a round stem and square base." The entry for this church in COFLEIN [https://coflein.gov.uk/en/site/301825/details/st-cynyrs-church-llangunnor] [accessed 24 January 2020] notes: "During the medieval period St Cynyr's was a parish church [...] The limestone font is thirteenth century in date."
