There are eighteen entries for Exeter [variant spellings] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SX9292/exeter/] [accessed 13 May 2018], of which two mention a church in it. The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SX9181892466] notes: "C14 and C15. [...] Restored 1815 and 1874"; no font mentioned. The stone font is modern, consisting of an octagonal basin decorated with figural scenes on the sides; moulded underbowl; octagonal pedestal stem with blank arcade on the sides; graded moulding on the octagonal lower base. Modern wooden cover with four ribs on flat octagonal base with donor information inscription on the edges; four-petal floral finial. [NB: we have no information on the font(s) of the medieval church(es) here].
