Font Notes:
There is an entry for this Wanborough [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SU9348/wanborough/] [accessed 12 December 2015]; it mentions a church in it. The Victoria County History (Surrey, vol. 3, 1911) informs: "The church was early appropriated to Waverley, (fn. 26) but it does not appear in Pope Nicholas's Taxation of 1291. [...] All the walls are of 13th-century date, except that at the west, this having been rebuilt in modern times […] The building was disused for two centuries, from 1674 to 1861 […] All the other interior fittings are modern." The present font is a Victorian attempt at a 13th-14th century hexafoil basin on a base of clustered columns. The wooden cover matches the hexafoil plan [NB: we have no information on the original font of this church]
