Noted in 'A Short Guide to Englishcombe Parish Church with some notes on its history and of that of the Manor' (2007 updated electronic version of the 3rd print ed., 1947) [http://www.englishcombe.net/pdf/Short%20Guide%20A4%20pdf.pdf] [accessed 13 June 2008]: "The font has recently been moved from the west end of the nave to the chapel. It is Norman, but the unusual base has suffered mutilation. Its oak cover is Gothic and dates from the fourteenth century."
